The answer to this question seems rhetorical to some and yet it is asked by so many who are confused by this healing modality that has existed for many years.
Reiki is often mistaken to have a religious affiliation which makes people hesitant to learn more about it and try it so as not to compromise the beliefs they have been raised with or have grown up following.
The truth is, reiki is not a religion all its own. It does not have a dogma and you are not required to “believe” in it for reiki to be effective.
The recipient of a treatment is free to interpret the energy in whatever way is comfortable in order to appreciate the benefits of reiki. From Angels and Spirit-Guides to God and Jesus to Allah and Buddha, the intention of reiki is a spiritual healing that enlightens you and your beliefs, whatever they may be.
Reiki is energy healing. The body is comprised of energy and, simply put, reiki stimulates this energy to allow for natural healing to occur. Through reiki, the human body is given a stronger forum to aid in its own healing. Healing can come in many forms; where it aids relaxation and reduces stress for some, it accelerates recovery from surgery or relieves past trauma for others.
Reiki does not question a person’s faith or belief system, neither in treatments nor in training as a practitioner. All that is required is openness to the possibilities of what reiki is able to bring to your life.
